How to install s3cmd on Linux on connectVM Cloud🔗

In this article you will learn how to install s3cmd on Linux. s3cmd can be used, among other things, to:

  • download files from EODATA repositories as well as to
  • store files in object storage available on connectVM Cloud,

without mounting these resources as a file system.

Prerequisites🔗

No. 1 Account

You need a connectVM Cloud hosting account with access to the Horizon interface: https://console.connectvm.com/.

No. 2 A virtual machine or local computer

These instructions are for Ubuntu 22.04, either on a local computer or on a virtual machine hosted on connectVM Cloud cloud.

Other operating systems and environments are outside of scope of this article and might require adjusting of the instructions accordingly.
